Fast-drying, fiber-reinforced screed with only 2/3 of the weight compared to traditional screed. This significantly reduces the workload when working with bagged goods instead of traditional screed. Ideal for applying a bonded screed floor or for small spaces, both indoors and outdoors. This Fast screed is easy to spread, allowing for a quicker achievement of a level finish.

Latermix Fast is a fast-drying fibre-reinforced floor screed which is at the same time lightweight thanks to the water-repellent expanded clay aggregates used in its formulation.

The fact that it is a fibre-reinforced screed and that it is composed of high performance lightweight aggregates means that it can be used in low thicknesses and offers great stability and durability, while the rapid drying allows the screed to receive floor coverings after minimum curing times and ease of direct laying of any type of floor finish, whether glued or floating.

Latermix Fast is ready to use after mixing with water and provides an answer to most building site requirements, both in renovation and new construction, in terms of thicknesses, drying and reduction of dead loads.

Required Quantity

• Bags required per 1 m² of floor area: 0.69 bags per 10 mm depth
• Package: bags each of 16 litres on non-returnable wooden pallets, 84 bags/pallet for 1.34 m³/pallet. (Comparable yield to traditional mortar from 25 kg bags)

Suggested thicknesses:

• Bonded screed with the Staenis levelling grid: see the installation advice below
• Unbonded screed ≥ 4 cm
• Floating screed: from 5 cm, depending on the insulation underlay and required reinforcement

This Staenis installation advice applies only to bonded installation on concrete with the Staenis levelling grid. Use a fresh bonding slurry of cement, our FG 300 primer and water according to the Staenis method, and apply Latermix Fast wet-on-wet. The base thickness remains at least 2.5 cm; it may be reduced to 1 cm only locally. This is not advice for an entire floor at 1 cm thickness.

Tip for thin areas: mix with approximately 2 litres of water per bag to achieve an earth-moist consistency. If site conditions require it, the water quantity may be increased slightly to improve workability, as stated in the technical data sheet. Additional water may extend the drying time. Apply the screed onto the still-fresh bonding slurry and compact thoroughly.

• Storage life: 12 months from manufacture, dry and under cover in the original unopened packaging.

When installing on a separating layer or insulation, the underlay and floor build-up determine the minimum thickness and any reinforcement. The corresponding conditions are in the Staenis sheet below. Drying times are indicative; check residual moisture before a moisture-sensitive finish.
